Strategic Planning Administrator: Fixed-Term Contract up until 31 October 2019

Salary Package per Month: R17, 834.00

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) for the mining and minerals sector in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998.

The MQA seeks an individual to fill the above-mentioned vacancy for a candidate that will perform administrative and clerical duties for various projects within the Strategic Planning Unit.

The responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following duties:

Key performance areas

  • Maintain accurate and up to date documentation for the Strategic Planning Unit;
  • Create documents and presentations for the Strategic Planning Manager;
  • Organise meetings and provide secretariat services for the Strategic Planning process  by taking minutes and documenting decisions taken in all relevant meetings;
  • Maintain a record of the registration process for stakeholders, attendance registers, meeting invites and notifications;
  • Manage diaries and travel arrangements;
  • Manage the compliance calendar and integrate this calendar into the MQA’s planning schedule for Parliament, National Treasury, the DHET, MQA Board, sub-committees, etc;
  • Conduct general administrative and ad-hoc duties;
  • Assist the Strategic Planning Manager to prepare performance reports;
  • Assist with preparations for internal and external audits of performance information;
  • Manage the submission of project specific supporting documents from Project Managers;
  • Assist with the preparations for internal and external audits of the MQA’s ISO Quality Management System (QMS);
  • Assist with user queries regarding the SETA Management Information System (MIS);
  • Provide reports on work that has been conducted;
  • Manage queries from MQA business units relating to the MQA’s ISO QMS;
  • Travel to the MQA regional offices whenever necessary to assist with ISO audit preparedness; and
  • Perform any other duties that may be delegated by the Strategic Planning Manager.

Qualifications and experience

  • National diploma/NQF level 5 qualification in business administration or project management.
  • At least two (2) or more years’ experience in the public sector.

  • Computer literacy in MS Office packages including Microsoft Project;

  • An understanding of the SETA MIS will be advantageous.
