TO: ABET Co-ordinators/Managers/SETAs/ABET Stakeholders
FROM: Thapelo Madibeng, Learning Programmes Manager
DATE: 22 October 2008
The National Report on the Development and State of the Art of Adult Learning and Education in the country released on June 2008 has now been circulated to the workplace stakeholders for input.
We appreciate all the inputs which we have received during the initial round of comments for 22 September 2008. We would like to afford an opportunity for stakeholders to still send any comments on the country report particularly the ABET workplace perspective. This extension is therefore granted until the 27 October 2008.
Your inputs will assist us in preparing for the Workplace ABET Forum in November 2008 and the forum would feed into relevant national processes already underway for ABET. The process for your inputs would be as follows:
1. Consolidation of the workplace inputs by 29 October 2008;
2. Inputs sent to co-ordinators of adult learning network by 30 October 2008 for consideration for the November Kenya Confetia Preparation Conference;
3. Consolidated Inputs are posted on the MQA website by 5 November 2008; and
4. Workplace ABET Forum meeting is set up within 2 week.
It is intended that the workplace forum would be joined by the Department of Education, UMALUSI and the Adult Learning Network for discussion on workplace inputs, perspective on the country’s report and for the Confetia preparation.
Your inputs are therefore valuable to shape the Workplace ABET Landscape and for joint co-ordination with major relevant ABET role-players.
Kind regards,
Thapelo Madibeng Learning Programmes Manager
