The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) developed and launched a Disability and Reasonable Accommodation Toolkit in 2011. The toolkit can be used to assist companies in the mining and minerals sector to ensure that people with disabilities are included in various non-artisan learnership. The MQA will be hosting a Disability Workshop to address these issues.
The purpose of the workshop is to:

Guide employers to understand issues relating to the intake of employees and learners with disabilities for effective inclusion in the mining and minerals sector,

Equip employers with cost effective and reasonable options for ensuring that employees access their worksites and improve accessibility for people with disabilities as well as the general public, and
-
Encourage employers to include learners with disabilities on training initiatives.
