PROJECT: Non Artisan Core

Employed and unemployed learners entering a learnership per annum

Definition

This is a structured, occupationally directed learning programme that leads to a qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework and is not trade related.

Who can access a Learnerships?

Employees of mining companies and unemployed learners who will need to be placed with mining companies for on the job training. NB: Unemployed learners must approach mining companies to be able to access training in learnerships as the MQA only facilitates and funds the training for mining and minerals sector employers.

Registration Process

Employers (through their MQA Accredited Skills Development Providers) are responsible for registering learners on the MQA Learner Management Information System (I Share System).

Learning Programme Agreements and supporting documents such as certified ID copy, Training Plan, Proof of Disability for disabled learners, Learners highest qualification (except

Grant Amounts

  • Non Artisan Core Payment is processed in 2 Tranches. Registration = R 20 000.00 and Completion = R 30 000.00.
    Total Amount = R 50 000.00
  • Non Artisan Beneficiation Payment is processed in 2 Tranches. Registration = R10 000.00 and Completion = R 25 000.00.
    Total Amount = R 35 000.00
  • Non Artisan Disability Payment is processed in 2 Tranches. Registration = R15 000.00 and Completion = R 35 000.00.
    Total Amount = R 50 000.00
